Often imitated but never matched, La Pintade Caillard guinea hens have been around since the mid-1970s, when creator Heidi Caillard was inspired by the real garden fowl that she knew from her family’s home as a child. The Swiss-born potter opened a shop in the Provence area of France, and in the mid-1990s, her son Adrien took over. It’s still in operation today.
Heidi Caillard’s original ceramic fowl are exactly the type of products that Shinbone Alley searches the world for. We aim to bring our shoppers well-made, collectible home goods and gifts that represent the world’s best artists and craftspeople.
The guinea fowl come in a variety of color combinations and range in size from approximately 6.5 x 6.5 inches to 10 by 10 inches.

Before each hen is shipped from France to our location in the United States, it is packed in a box that not only protects its journey “across the pond,” but also makes it easy to give as a gift. We think our hens would make a lovely housewarming, wedding, or any-occasion gift.
