Advantages of Exotic Hardwood Cutting Board

The density of a wood cutting board gives an advantage over other materials such as glass or plastic by providing a soft, non-abrasive surface to protect your knife’s delicate edges. Wood is also more durable and reliable than plastic and glass. The high-quality wood and design make it easy for these boards to double as serving as well — plus they display beautifully in your pantry, kitchen, or table. For a natural aesthetic to be added to your kitchen, consider a cutting board made from exotic wood.

How to Care for Hardwood Cutting Boards

Most of the cutting boards in our collection were finished with beeswax and mineral oil. To keep your cutting block well maintained, we recommend treating with a cutting board oil and conditioning cream. The oil helps repair the wood’s fibers while the cream is a thicker layer that protects the surface. It is recommended to oil and condition your cutting board at least once a month or more if you use it more often. You’ll notice the surface becoming dry to the touch when it is time for a treatment.
