Kilim is the Turkish word describing a textile that’s made using a flat-weaving technique, traditionally seen in carpets and rugs throughout Central Asia. Sumak is a rare type of kilim that use a flat-weave style and typically depict tribal symbols or small animals. Our hand-knotted Sumak kilim belt is made from such genuine Turkish carpets by Artemis Design Co., known for their “flying carpet shoes.” They make the buckle from solid brass, made in the U.S.A. Use our size guide to find the right fit, and be sure to measure where your belt loops sit. The belt has five holes and can accommodate a variety of sizes; the size (34) is the maximum width, which is the furthest hole.
Whenever possible, we recommend measuring the part of your waist where you’ll wear the belt. Most people can fit into more than one size, but will find one to accommodate a range that’s more ideal. If you’re not able to measure, we’d recommend that men order two sizes up from their pant size.
